When news broke that legendary singer-songwriter John Prine was admitted to a Nashville hospital with Coronavirus complications, it was hard to find even a smaller glimmer of hope. Prine was a two time cancer survivor, 73 years old, and the situation certainly seemed dire. When he ultimately passed away, the music industry wrapped their collective arms and hearts around he and his family, with tributes coming from nearly every genre and artist he ever touched.
I really enjoyed this NPR tiny desk home concert tribute to John Prine. His folksy lyrics and common man style really captured a very human element, and his death from the nasty COVID-19 virus did the same. It reminded us of how human we all are. RIP, Mr. Prine.
