It’s been quite a dramatic 24 hours. Yesterday, Mayor Latoya Cantrell announced that shelter-in-place/social distancing guidelines would continue thru the middle of May, hoping to continue the flattening of the curve in New Orleans. Essence Fest, scheduled for the weekend of July 4th, has been canceled, as well as all large events for 2020. And today, we found out that the previously rescheduled Jazz Fest would be completely canceled for 2020 as well.
While I continue to defer to the experts on matters such as these, it’s yet another sad reminder of our current situation. I can’t wait for 2021, y’all.
