Top 5 things to do while being sheltered in place....
It’s been 3 weeks now since we were all sent home for quarantine/isolation/social distancing/sheltering-in-place. Or is it 4? It’s hard to remember at this point. How have you passed the time? If this is our new reality for several more weeks, here are some friendly pointers…..
1. House projects! You know, those pesky tasks in and around that home that you always want to do, but can never find the time. Work in the garden, paint the bathroom, organize the attic…..get that honey-do list ready and get to work.
2. Exercise! The weather has been beautiful, and sitting at home all day just makes us stir crazy. Get out and go for a run, or a walk, or a bike ride. You’ll feel much better.
3. Work on a new skill! Learn to play guitar, build a website, write a novel, or learn to tap dance. Whatever. But come out of this 2 week downtime a stronger, more well rounded person.
4. Spend time with loved ones! Sure, we all spend time with our significant others, our children, and our families, but I mean REALLY spend time with them. Go for a long hike, or a picnic. Draw an elaborate mural with sidewalk chalk.
5. Volunteer! There are so many people right now who desperately need help right now, and whether it’s money or time, we’ve all got something to offer.
Embrace this next few weeks. Make the best of it. And until then, stay safe!
