Miles with Maud really has nothing at all to do with health insurance, employee benefits, human resources, or really anything else in the course of my daily work life. However, I can’t get the image out of my mind. Feel free to Google it and watch the video for yourself, as I’m choosing not to post it here. A young man, out for a run, was shot dead by a father and son combo who stalked him down, mistakenly thinking he was a criminal.
This may not be the time or place for personal opinions, so I will instead share this — runners from across the world today are logging their miles, 2.23 miles to be exact, to show their support for Ahmaud Arbery. The distance represents the date of his death, and it took over 2 months to finally move towards justice, with the alleged killers finally being arrested and charged with murder.
So today, I urge each of you to get out and show your support for Ahmaud. 2.23 miles at a time.
